Celebrating Our Charter 100 Year Anniversary - 03/08/2017

On March 8, 1917 the Kiwanis Club of Toronto was chartered.  Yesterday at the National Club, a large gathering of Kiwanians from the Toronto club and beyond, including special guest Governor Phil Rossy and wife Diane (from the Ottawa Club), celebrated the club's 100th year. 

President Joe Elkerton, shown in the photo, hosted the festivities, including the singing of Happy Birthday (as shown in the photo).

100 in 100 Grants Application Launched - 02/17/2017

2017 marks the Kiwanis Club of Toronto’s 100th Anniversary.  To celebrate, we are awarding 100 grants to 100 Toronto-based charities that are helping children and youth - each with a value of $2500. 

All successful applicants will also be eligible to apply for our Community Achievement Award of $40,000.

Timing

Deadline for Submission - Tuesday, April 25, 2017

100 Awards Announcement - Thursday, May 25, 2017.  Notified winners will be able to then apply for the Community Achievement Award.

Toronto Kiwanis Welcomes Ndaba Mandela to Toronto - 06/30/2016

Toronto Kiwanis was the presenting sponsor at this special and historic evening at which Ndaba Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s grandson and the ambassador to the family name was in Canada for the first time to share his grandfather’s story of hope and youth empowerment at a gala event on June 30.

Ndaba also addressed the critical issue of how education and interconnectivity leads to employment in all areas – from the largest universities, to the smallest local schools. Ndaba regularly educates audiences on how to apply the tools it takes to realize his grandfather’s eternal message of the importance of education in one’s life.
