Kiwanis One Day – GlobalMedic Packing Event

💫 One day can make a world of a difference!
🔹Join us on Saturday October 28, in packing dried food staples for the McAntony’s menu,  where this food will be delivered to Canadian shelters, food banks and community support agencies.
🔹We will be supporting GlobalMedic at their Oakville location at 1494 Wallace Rd from 1:15pm-4:00pm
Your volunteer shift will involve packing dried pantry staples in support of their domestic food program, McAntony’s Menu. This food is delivered to Canadian shelters, food banks and community support agencies. Tasks during these shifts include weighing, portioning and sealing bags of dried ingredients as well as labeling and building boxes.
Safety Tips:
-We welcome anyone to wear one if they feel more comfortable that way and we always have masks on site. -We ask that anyone who is feeling sick or of course who has tested positive for COVID refrain from coming to the site.
-*Close toed shoes are mandatory at our sites.
-We encourage people to wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty.
-Heavy lifting is not required though I’m sure our site manager Jon would appreciate any help people are willing to provide!
-*The only potential allergen might be gluten as we do pack barley as one of our ingredients.
-Children are able to volunteer, our minimum age requirement is 10. Anyone under the age of 14 must have direct adult supervision.
