Our Club

The Kiwanis Club of Toronto was chartered in 1917 – as one of the first clubs in Canada and we are now one of over 7,700 clubs in 80 countries.

The Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World” – and our focus continues to be helping young people in this great city.

Kiwanis Toronto members are a fun mix of younger, older, professionals, and entrepreneurs who come together to make a difference both in their community and in their own lives.  Members form lifetime friendships based upon mutual interests and a shared joy that comes from doing great things for others.

Do you have a passion for service?

Kiwanis can help you realize it. Our members initiate and develop projects as the need and opportunities arise, choosing what’s important, relevant, and will make a difference to others.

Kiwanis clubs serve their communities while providing members with an opportunity for personal growth. Members contribute their enthusiasm, time, and fund-raising efforts to community projects.

Kiwanis is living proof of the changes that a small group of people can accomplish.  Each Kiwanis club has a mandate to have a positive impact in its community, as well as the opportunity to engage in coordinated global initiatives.

The Kiwanis Club of Toronto meets at The National Club (303 Bay St.) for lunch on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and our committees meet regularly to plan service projects in our catchment areas.

Objects of Kiwanis

  • To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
  • To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
  • To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
  • To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
  • To provide, through Kiwanis Clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will.
